One day off before starting a hard week.Visited Fashion Island, New Port Beach, 15 minutes drive from Costa Mesa.A kind of theme park about American Fashion.

Heaven or Hell?

After returning to Hotel, watched Oscar ceremony.  Congratulations to Leo!　This was his night.

オスカーセレモニーを同じカリフォルニアで（テレビですが）同時刻の夜に見られるというのはなんという幸運。この日は世界中がレオの受賞を待ち、讃えた日、という印象でした。スピーチも貫禄。冒頭に引用しましたが、「この地球環境をあたりまえに与えられたものと思わないようにしましょう。ぼくも今夜のことをあたりまえのものとはせず、とても貴重なものとして大切に守ります」というニュアンスを感じました。もっと若くして受賞していたら、果たしてこれだけのことばが出てきたでしょうか。総立ちで彼を讃えるオーディエンスの表情に、映画業界全体の、レオへの敬意と愛情を感じました。
