時を超えて「人と人とを優雅につなぐ」モナコ　大阪万博

大阪万博、モナコ公国のレセプションにお招きいただきました。

ピエール・アンドレ・キアポリ財務大臣、ディディエ・ガメルダンジェ駐日モナコ大使はじめモナコ公国の関係者の方々にあたたかくお迎えいただきました。

モナコのパビリオンは全体が大人の社交サロンのようでした。なんといってもオテル・モンテカルロが提携しているのです。一流ホテルのおもてなしのエッセンスをコンパクトにほんの少し体験できる場所、それがモナコパビリオン。

レセプション会場となった3階のワインセラーには、SBMグループのエグゼクティブヘッドソムリエが選んだボルドー、ブルゴーニュ、ローヌ、ロワール、プロヴァンスのワインが麗しく並んでいます。 家具はイタリアのチェリーニがこのパビリオンのために特別に作ったもので、丸みのある建物と調和する柔らかなデザインです。

庭園もまた見どころ満載なのですが、建物の上階にある展望台ル・ヴェルヴェデーレからはこの庭園を見下ろしながらワインを楽しむことができます。 本格派のワインは、一般のゲストもグラス単位で味わうことができるそうなので、万博に足を運ばれることがありましたら、こちらで大人のゆったりしたモナコ時間を過ごしてみてください。

私は日が沈む前においとましたのですが、夜のライトアップがさらに華麗だと評判です。 未来を見せる万博ですが、モナコはきっと過去も現在も未来も変わらず人と人とのつながりを優雅に演出するラグジュアリーな舞台であり続けていくでしょう。そんな本質を守り貫く意志を感じました。

I had the honor of attending the Monaco Pavilion reception at Expo 2025 Osaka. We were warmly welcomed by key figures from the Principality of Monaco, including H.E. Mr. Pierre-André Chiappori, Minister of Finance and Economy, and H.E. Mr. Didier Gamerdinger, Ambassador of Monaco to Japan.

The pavilion itself felt like an elegant social salon for grown-ups—unsurprising, given that it’s in partnership with the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. A compact yet refined space that distills the essence of world-class hospitality: that’s the Monaco Pavilion.

The reception was held in the third-floor wine cellar, where fine selections from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhône, Loire, and Provence—curated by the Executive Head Sommelier of the SBM Group—lined the room like jewels. The furniture, custom-made by Italian brand Cellini for the pavilion, featured gentle curves that echoed the architecture’s soft, rounded form.

The garden is another highlight. From the upper-level observatory, Le Belvédère, you can gaze out over the garden while savoring a glass of fine wine. Even general visitors can enjoy premium wines by the glass, so if you’re heading to the Expo, I highly recommend experiencing this moment of “Monaco time”—an oasis of elegance and calm.
