人生を変えたい、変わりたい、という願望をよく耳にする。スピリチュアル系が人気なのもそんな願望に応えているのでしょうね。

私も変革者が大好きなので、そんな願望に共感するのですが。

ファッションの領域での変革者を研究し、本にも書いている立場から何か言えることがあるとすれば、現実レベルで地味にも見える行動をある一定期間変わらずに続けてきた人が結果として人生を変え、時に社会まで変えている、ということ。

エルメスの創業者ティエリー・エルメスは、１３歳のときパリをめざし５００キロの道のりを一人で淡々と歩いた。

MIKIMOTOの創業者、御木本幸吉は 真円真珠の養殖の成功までに１５年かけている。

現代においても、スズサンの創業者、村瀬弘行氏は、知人もいないデュッセルドルフで一件一件、泥臭く営業するということを５年続けている。

舘鼻則孝氏もメールを１００通送り続け、ようやく３人から返事をとりつける。その一人がレディ・ガガのスタイリストだった。

We often hear people say they want to change their lives—or change themselves. The popularity of spiritual practices likely reflects this widespread longing for transformation.

I, too, am drawn to changemakers and deeply resonate with that desire.
