25ans 11月号発売です。巻頭連載「ロイヤルの肖像」Vol. 11は、タイのスティダー王妃です。

民間航空会社の客室乗務員から王室警護部隊の軍務に進み、2019年にラーマ10世と結婚した異色の経歴を持つスティダー王妃。昨年は東南アジア競技大会のセーリング競技にタイ代表チームの一員として出場し、金メダルを獲得しました。まっすぐな姿勢、抑えた所作、無駄のない動き。その経歴を知ると、静かな美しさに凄みさえ感じられます。

In the November issue of 25ans, I wrote about Queen Suthida of Thailand for Vol. 11 of my opening-page series, “Portraits of Royalty.”

Before marrying King Rama X in 2019, Queen Suthida worked as a flight attendant and later served in a royal security unit—an unusual path to the throne. Last year, she competed in sailing at the Southeast Asian Games as a member of Thailand’s national team, which won gold. Her upright posture, restrained gestures and economy of movement have a quiet beauty. Knowing her remarkable history, one senses a formidable strength beneath it.
