天国と地獄は隣あわせ

横浜・三渓園は蓮のシーズン。
清らかで可憐な蓮の花よりも強烈な印象を残したのが、池で繰り広げられていた大勢の亀とすっぽんのバトル。全速力で泳ぐすっぽんなんて初めて見た…。闘争心丸出しですっぽんを蹴落とそうとする亀たちも、目が赤く光って戦隊のようだった。

蓮の花を観賞して心を静かに浄化するはずだったのですが😅

天上の平和な美と熾烈な生存競争が隣り合わせという寓話のような光景。

Sankeien Garden in Yokohama is in the midst of lotus season.

But what left a stronger impression than the pure and delicate lotus flowers was the fierce battle taking place in the pond next to the lotus pool—between a swarm of turtles and a soft-shelled turtle.

It was my first time seeing a soft-shelled turtle swim at full speed. The other turtles, brimming with fighting spirit, were trying to knock it down, their eyes glowing red like members of a superhero squad.

In the fifth photo, the soft-shelled turtle is the one in the center—with the pointed head and large shell.

I had intended to quietly purify my spirit while admiring the lotus blossoms, but… 😅

A scene like a fable, where heavenly, peaceful beauty and a fierce struggle for survival exist side by side.
