雅耀会第8回　CSRではなくビジネスとして地銀の頭取レベルと連携せよ

第8回雅耀会を、国際文化会館にて開催しました。ゲストは、財務省大臣官房企画官で、前EU日本政府代表部参事官の二宮悦郎氏。テーマは「日本の工藝を世界へ　外需と海外販路のグランドデザイン」です。

二宮氏の問題提起は明快でした。日本の工藝が海外で十分に売れていないのは、価値がないためではなく、作品をふさわしい市場へ運び、その背景を翻訳し、価格をつくり、売り切り、利益を作家と職人へ戻す「仲介機能」が失われているから。

単発の海外展示で「すばらしい」と言われても、市場は育ちません。必要なのは、実際に買っていただくこと。アートフェアで販売実績を積み、価格と信用を育て、次の取引へつなげること。備前焼をベルギーのキーパーソンと結び、現地アートフェアで初日に完売した事例には、その具体的な方法が凝縮されており感銘を受けました。

発信についても、誰に何をどう売るのかを定め、そこから逆算して言葉と見せ方を組み立てろと指南。支援やCSRの対象としてではなく、適正な利益を生み、地域へ還元できるビジネスとして工藝を捉え直し、地銀の頭取レベルと連携する。厳しい指摘の一つひとつが、工藝を持続させるための現実的な道筋へつながっていました。

会場には、作り手、ギャラリー、金融、行政、政治、教育、メディアなど、異なる現場を担う50名を超える専門家の方々が集まりました。熱気と迫力のこもった質問は途切れず、議論は予定時間を越えて続きました。自らの地域や仕事を持ち寄り、「一緒に動きたい」という声が次々に上がり、会の終わりには次の実践への道筋が見え始めていました。

雅耀会が目指してきたのは、英国のWalpoleのように、ラグジュアリーを担う人々が有機的につながり、互いの知見を生かして、世界へ価値を届ける日本独自のネットワークです。大きな箱を先に作るのではなく、売れる実例と意欲ある人を「アメーバのように」つなぐ。今回、その輪郭が構想から実働へ一歩進みました。二宮さま、ご参加くださった皆さま、ありがとうございました。

The eighth Gayo-kai gathering was held at the International House of Japan, with Etsuro Ninomiya, Policy Planning Officer at Japan’s Ministry of Finance and former Counsellor at the Mission of Japan to the European Union, as our guest. The theme was “Bringing Japanese Kōgei to the World: A Grand Design for Global Markets.”

Mr Ninomiya argued that Japanese craft struggles overseas not because it lacks value, but because the intermediary system needed to build a market has weakened. Artists need partners who can place their work in the right context, communicate its significance, establish credible prices, complete sales, and return profits to makers. His example of Bizen ware selling out on the opening day of a Belgian art fair showed how international admiration can be converted into a sustainable market.

More than 50 experts from craft, galleries, finance, government, politics, education, and media joined us. The discussion continued beyond the scheduled time, with many participants eager to turn ideas into action.

Gayo-kai aspires to connect those shaping the luxury sector so that knowledge, opportunity, and value can circulate. This gathering marked an important step from concept to action. My sincere thanks to Mr Ninomiya and everyone who contributed.
